The buying section of the forums allow shrimp right? But what if I wanted a seperate item, unrelated to shrimp. Would offering to trade for shrimp OR other items or cash be allowed.
    Thanks mods.

We have decided to disallow the sales, giving and trading of shrimp through AQ from Monday, 20th Aug 2012 onwards until further notice. The main reasons is the quarrelsome and contentious nature of some shrimp hobbyists, especially when it comes to sales of shrimp."

Trading seems quite general, and interpretations will be subjective. I believe most of us see it as transactions of shrimps.
As per the rule, trading is definitely not allowed.
As for buying, maybe mods can clear the air.
    sales, giving and trading
    Sales = Selling of shrimp.
If selling is banned, how is buying going to take place? So obviously WTB is also not allowed.

Trading includes any form of exchanges, including barter, cash and even favors.

There is no loopholes, so no point looking for one. If you can, make some friends via the forum, meet up for kopi and trade shrimps there offline.
I'm sure if everyone gets along well, you wouldn't even need the buy/sell forums to trade shrimps.

    Re: Sales of shrimp

    Hi Mods,

With refer to this line: "We have decided to disallow the sales, giving and trading of shrimp through AQ from Monday, 20th Aug 2012 onwards until further notice."
I thought it wasn't a permanment ban so was thinking to check it out how is the progress as there have been no news till now.

I do have alot of other forum to go to but i can darely say that no forums is as active as AQ used to be (refering to sales of shrimps).

Thanks for the clarification, although still finds it a pity that due to the minority that the ban is being put in place but still life keeps going on.

I also have move on to planted tank though.

Hopefully forumers will learn a lesson from this and won't repeat the mistake again.

Once again thanks for the clear explaination on the in depth problem and consideration.

Folks...I'm not asking to revoke a buy/sell policy - it's straight forward and understandable.

I want to give my shrimp away otherwise they'll have to be exterminated!
Any chance "Giving" can be lifted whilst maintaining the trade ban?
