My tank has recently been invaded by green algae which turns the water in the tank greenish. The bloom occured after I changed from FL 60 watts to PL 144 watts, (4x36w). Not all of it is on the tank walls, the water just appears very green. However the plants seem to be pearling under with the increased lighting.
Does anyone knows how to get rid of the algae?

reduce lighting or increase CO2 and nutrients to restore resource balance.

Change water more freguent, less feeding, more Co2. If u want faster result, change about 10-20% water daily

    Green algae eradicated

I've managed to clear almost all the algae by reducing the lighting from 12 hours a day to only 6 hours. Water is back to being clear. Suggested by my best friend. Thanks all!

6hr of lighting is too short.
you should increase your lighting gradually in tandem with increase co2 and nutrients.
btw, what is the size of your tank?
