    Hi,

I used to have moss growing up healthily (PL Lights + CO2). Then my fishes got fin rot, and I added salt. Now, I have remove the salt (100% water change), and my moss doesn't grow as fast and some of the roots starts to rot.

    Could someone advise?

the LFS store said they are moss, the roots, not as in those thick roots, but they do have roots, unlike riccia,

btw, I noticed the moss are turning into reddish, and I thought they might be lack of iron, but a packet of iron (AquaPlants 30ml) and pour it in. Hope it helps.....

Moss roots... must be a new species of moss. Maybe will grow flowers too if you keep at it.

A picture will clear up the apparent confusion these "moss roots" have caused!
Another quality, non aquatic-related post from mrs budak!

Are you referring to Monosolenium tenerum instead? Your description sounds so to me...

Perhaps you can tell us where you got the "moss" from. My guess is you got yourself some Singapore moss that was harvested emersed form by the lfs or the lfs supplier. The healthly moss grew on the old and dead moss that turned brown, in addition some soil was together with the moss when the it was harvested. As a result, the "ignorant" lfs owner told you the brown stuff is the root.

Moss are known to be undemanding on nutrients generally. They are however, more demanding on cooler temperature.

Like they say, a picture speaks a thousand words.

    Cheers!

it's not "Monosolenium tenerum". I don't have a digital camera.

I bought the moss from Yishun Block 934, the size of 3 stores,

Hey...that will be red moss! don't put any iron, it is worth a ton...
    Sorry...just joking...

one side brown one side green...that remind me of moss harvested on land...brown side is soil+mud+tree bark+sand+whatever.....Green side is emersed moss.....maybe, well it is just a guess without the picture...

Guy luck to your planting...hope it doesn't turn out as something else...
