Are you able to screw out the gauge, if you can. Go to any hardware store and ask for Teflon tape for piping usage. Apply a few layer of the Teflon tape on the screw thread of the gauge and mount back. It should solve the problem
Just bought this from C328 a couple of months ago. Noticed my newly filled CO2 tank depleting after only a couple of weeks. Topped up my other CO2 tank then noticed a hissing sound when I open the tank valve. I noticed the high pressure gauge showing 0 and the hissing sound will be muted when I cover the gauge with my hands. I wonder if they will exchange a new one for me seeing that it has been more than a month?

hey davin , i have the same exact issue as you !!!! i bought 2 sets of it , both sets are exactly the same as you described !. dropped you a PM .
seudzar, I haven't really tried but it seems to be very tight. I didn't want to risk breaking the entire thing... I did apply moderate force.
Hey sawzai, sent the image to you. Sorry about the poor quality, lousy tablet camera
you should try adding teflon tape as seudzar has suggested.
if you worry about breaking the gauge, you should bring it back to c328.
to find the leakage, you can drip soapy water to all joints and check for bubbling.

no problem davin.
i did add teflon tape , no use. the leak of mine is huge when opening the main cylinder valve. very loud hissing sound. 2 sets of mine + 1 sets of his , seems like this JBJ reg is really bad
Hmmm... definitely leaking from the gauge. I can feel the airflow with my hand, that's how bad it is.
I'll call up the shop before going over. Either this is a flawed batch we got or this means I should avoid JBJ solenoids if I can. My previous Dymax solenoid lasted me close to 2 years before it blew... this one.... 2 months
my 2 sets lasted less than 3 weeks !
What a rare moment, i never use jbj. But many people told it best performer here in Singapore. Myself never use that brand, my up was broke off within half year. Now i'm switching over to ans dual gauge. Hope it will be last.
The gauge probably developed a leak internally if teflon tape can't fix it. Maybe the bourdon tube inside has developed a crack or hole, which points to some kinda quality issue.
It's probably fixable (get a new gauge and screw that in) if the rest of the regulator is fine, but if it's within warranty, I'd just go ahead and change it just to not have to deal with it. You'd need alot of force to take it apart, they probably hired some kinda monster at the factory to put these together, I'd had to put my entire weight on it just to get to move.
Is you JBJ the one with JBJ logo on the pressure gauge and regulator body or newer version where there is no JBJ logo anywhere? Mine last 5 years without problem
Davin has the one exact same as mine. I got 1 set replaced at aquanautic, 1 day later still the same problem
email JBJ and complain
Emailed. They just said apologize and ask me head to aquanautic.
Sound like their quality drop drastically.
Hmmm... C328 asked me to bring it over and they'll have a look. Most probably it's the tube that broke since the gauge screw threads are usually factory sealed and the gauge itself is where I feel the CO2 leaking from. Will need a vise to hold it in place if you want to unscrew it. Considering I only got it for less than 3 months I'll say it's still under warranty. Is it their QC drop or are they cutting corners? I have no idea... but if this one breaks again I'll consider removing some plants from my setup and dropping CO2 altogether. Wasted 2 x 2L tanks on this already and it's not fun to carry these tanks around when you don't drive!
you don't need to bring the whole tank, just bring the regulator will do
Hahaha! Yeah, I know. Just that due to the leak, 1 of my CO2 tank is empty and the other 1 is pretty much 1/2 gone I guess. Will need to refill anyway... but I may refill the tanks at Tiong Bahru instead since it's nearer for me.
haha. so did you bring your reg back to c328 ?
