The scape is looking good! definitely follows the 2/3 rule!
Hi!
The start of this tank is inspired by the beautiful planted tanks i saw at Green Chapter. Am not new to this fish tank hobby but definitely a newbie in planted tanks. The theme of this scape will be iwagumi style. Currently have placed the rocks in and will drain the water out soon to plant some plants suited to this style. Sorry for the murky water!
Will continue to update after the plants are in!
Rocks are courtesy of Green Chapter.. (Was in a rush when i purchased them and didn't squeeze GC uncle for discount. )

Wow, are those the borneowild black volcanic rocks from GC?
I was also there recently too and saw their latest showcase tank with those rocks and they looked incredible, so i quickly went to grab 3 nice rocks of around 5-6kg size each... but somehow missed the big sign saying $20 per kg. After realizing i was going to be spending $300+ on 3 rocks, i got the instant evil eye from my better half, so had to reluctantly put them back.
Honestly, those are very nice rocks and i'm still very tempted to get them (maybe the smaller ones instead).
Really looking forward to your scape!
$300 for 3 rocks! foooyooo!
look nice, I would prefer the rocks to have same surface. Currently look as if there are 2 different type of rocks, one with rough surface and the other one with smooth surface
Can't wait further pages of this journal
@eugenekjy - Thanks!
@zerofighterx101 -
@UrbanAquaria - You know what? the exact same scenario occured to me. I chose a rock with a considerable size and lots of character planning to use it as my centrepiece. With GC Uncle's assistance, he placed the rock on the weighing scale. The scale read 8KG for that one rock. There was a moment of silence (1kg = $20) and shortly after the rock was placed back to where it came from.
@Shadow - Thanks for the input. I am a huge fan of your works!
@milk_vanilla - Thanks! Will update!

Now u make me dont want to go there.....
maybe if i do i dont bring my $$$ with me....Ka!ka!ka!
@limz_777 we have good local suppliers
@zerofighter do give your review after your visit to the LFS..
some updates to the progress!
Added in Japonica, Japanese Hairgrass, HC & a few stalks of HM. Will be sourcing for riccia to tie to tiny pebbles for placement at multiple parts of the tank. Decided to go for the legendary HC for my front carpet, but from what i read in forums i guess its a tough plant to grow. Nevertheless, the beauty of HC on an Iwagumi setup is unparalleled, therefore, its a challenge i am willing to take.
Meanwhile, old man needs to rest... shag out after planting. Algae algae go away..

Collect bucephalandra and crypt is part of my life.Now i have more than 30 species of Bucephalandra . hope can collect more more. make me fall in love is Bucephalandra Molteyana Deep Purple
Hope your HC grows! Mine turned brown within 2 days and I don't know why =(
i hear people say , HC is quite hard to plant. but some people say easy. i also confuse

I tired Hc probably 3 times with different substrate and light but it turned from dark green to brown... I had high co2 and excel and moderately high light too. This was in a newly cycling tank.. But when I put the same pot in an established tank without co2 it grows slowly and doesn't carpet much
that's why . i also don't know why some people say very easy

You need experience my friend.
HC is high demand plant, both lighting and co2 requirement.
You put the pot in tank with no Co2 enrichment, how about the lighting? if it's not as powerful lighting. it will stun the plant growth.
It is easy once you grasp the plant. If newbie try without learning about it and get good grasp of how to grow it. 90% chance all perish.
Back on track, Urban... LOL.... happily take rock... sadly put back?
when ya going GC again?
Learning the hardway, not the highway.

The HC i bought are emersed form and will be going through the deadly conversion process soon to submersed. The plants are only in the tank for less than 12 hours, therefore, success or failure is still an unknown. I am also using Up Aqua Z Series light bolstered by ADA Brighty K. Keeping fingers crossed..

Updates:
very concerned about the plant health(referring to HC) . that's my priority now.. first few days after planting, the HC keeps floating up and i had to replant it several times. Thereafter, i planted them deeper into the substrate. There is widespread melting(pics below) of certain parts of the HC currently, hopefully its due to the conversion process from emmersed to submersed. One encouraging sign is that the HC is showing signs of creeping. There's also quite abit of pearling from the plants.
Regiment:
-30% water change every two days
-ADA Brighty K once every day
-ADA Step 1 once every two days
