My toninas seems to be growing lots of roots at the lower part of the stem.
Makes it somewhat unappealing - is it a nutrient deficiency or just something to bear with when planting toninas?

you have to do alittle trimming.. just trim off the bottom bit and replant them

i have the same experience. in additional, there is a layer of sap around the roots. is this also normal? its like when there is a dead fish left inside tank for a couple of days, some white stuff will form around it.

don't have the "fungus"/sap problem here - but reducing the toninas - too troublesome to maintain

I don't really find what all the hoopla is over these plants. They look a lot like Lagarosiphon and Egeria najas.

They got rooty on me also, I ended up with lots of Tonia all a sudden. It got branchy also.

    Regards,
    Tom Barr
