I have experimented with Taiwan and Chrismas moss. DSM in a nano 25cm tank. Didn't grind up the moss though and after a month of dry start, the moss 'roots' firmly when the tank is flooded.

i read and seen it somewhere in UK forums the person grind his US fissden or pelia then just scatter on the big rocks after 2 weeks he flood it.
I really want to try this but would be a waste if the moss died
Have yet to try it but will probably do so in my 2ft since I'm planning to DSM as well.
Moss Canyon
Take a look at the link above.
The guy ground up his moss with yoghurt plus some other stuff and "painted" it on his hardscape for his DSM
Apparently it's called Moss Graffiti.
Only thing to note is that it would smell funky as the yoghurt decomposes away. Interesting technique though I must say.

It should be ok as long as you keep it moisture but do note some moss does not readily stick to a rocks. For example spiky moss.
wooo nice ya im going to start a moss canyon or moss cliff
the grinding or blending the moss with yogurt or beer method does work on a dry surface, and after putting the green mush on the surface, with watering was known to work but in a fish water I am not sure, can give it a try.
