hopefully it won't contaminate and wipe out my shrimps i'm using chiller so temperature is not a problem. but when the bill comes.. haha. before i got my chiller, i used to freeze bottles of tap water then just hook the bottles of ice at the surface of tank. maybe you can try?

The inhabitants in my 4 tanks looks ok, temp is about 30deg Celsius (which is quite normal) in my planted tank without fan. I don't think it'll affect the water chemistry much unless you aerate the water thereby causing an increase in the hazy air to be mixed with the water. You'll only have a problem if you have an outdoor pond.

felix ~ Do you aerate your outside tanks and also do you have a powerhead to circulate the water?
