Finally got my own house and fortunately wife is supportive of my hobby and agreed to have a planted tank as part of the living room. Designed a 6ft tank within the living room carpentry to achieve the enclosed look.

    Tank Specs:
    Dimensions: 180cm x 45cm x 50cm (LBH)
Substrate: 5 packs of ADA Amazonia
Lighting: 32 DIY Cree XML-U2 LED array with electronic controller, 8 hours ON
    Filters: 1 x EJet 3388 and 1 x EJet 3368
    Chiller: Hailea HS-90 set @ 27°C
    Tank: Custom made by N30

The tanks appears blueish due to the camera's colour compensation.

    FTS:

    DIY LED Lighting
Consist of 4 banks of XML leds, with 8 leds in each bank.
1 x Meanwell driver powers 2 banks each, and both drivers are controlled by the rapidled controller for 8hr sunrise-sunset cycle. Currently the leds are running at half their full brightness to achieve balanced growth vs brightness vs heat load. No lens were used for this setup as I wanted to have the ripple effect.

    Limz_777,
I would say its slightly less than half the full brightness. Each driver delivers 2.3A of current, split equally between 2 banks (in parallel), thus each bank receives 1.15A. And 1.15A is further throttled down to 60% using PWM, finally each led is driven at approx 600-700mA. XMLs can take up to 3000mA for full brightness at around 709 luminus flux each.

6 feet, very panoramic scape. Who say we can't have nature inside a home. I am so envious and jealous.

HI Sir, mind sharing the cost for these components and also if they are available at SLT?
