most lfs should have fry food. Worst possible scenario would be buying blood worms and chopping them up

Dont think fry at this small can feed on boon yet.
You can try Hikari First Bites or start bubbling some BBS now..

What is BBS? British Braodcasting Station, Bulletin Board Service, or Big Bad Sotong?

Well is all about hobby, if you really enjoy fish keeping or breeding you would not see it as troublesome.

Anyway you can try decap brine shrimp eggs, can feed these directly to your fries.

    Re: Baby Danio

Young danio fry require infusoria as a first food, not BBS. If their mouths are too small to ingest the BBS it will be useless. Add some Liquifry No.1 to your tank to increase infusoria growth. After about 3-4 days the fry should be able to take BBS or "boon" aka Daphnia. Powdered flake may not interest the fry at this point of time.

Thank you Stormhawk and I will be on my way to bedok to look for LiquidFry No.1.

Yesterday I just bought MicroPellet no.7 but they are not interested, this morning i tried with TetraBit Complete finely grind and they still not interested.

Haiz, guess i will be busy for now, next time i won't used Love Potion No.9 on my Danios!

    Re: Baby Danio

I am back from bedok north! And i found this shop quite good

    HDB Bedok #01-19, 416 Bedok North Avenue 2, (S)460416

There is another shop in the same block too, Aqua-bio.

I bought "boon" but my danios babies not interested so meantime I have to air-bubble it, wonder how long i can keep?

Meantime, I found a better alternative to BBS and liquidfry; its BP! No, its not British Petrolem, nor is it Blood Pressure, but Baby Planktom! A small bottle cost only $3.50 last forever! Any body got anything to share about baby plankton? Sure beat BBS!

    Re: Baby Danio

    Hi Mikisol,

Boon quite easy to keep alive, they eat green water or yeast. I'm not too sure about baby plankton, never seen nor try it. In a established tank, normally there should be enough microscopic organism for the fries to eat. In your case, maybe too many fries so might not have enough to eat. So here is some emergency rations for the fries.
    1. Boiled egg yolk, grind it to super fine
    2. Sponge filter gunk. Apparently a lot of microscopic lifeforms live in a sponge filter so you can actually squeeze it in a pail and put some of that dirty solution into the water for the fries to eat. The downside is they will dirty the water
    3. Green water, basically this is just algae water. Get a container, add some tank water mix with , put a little milk or finely grind vegetation and put it under intense sunlight. The bad part is it will take some time to grow, the good part is almost every small organism consumes it. From small fries to clams to boon
    Good luck with the fries

    Re: Baby Danio

    Thanks Demon again.

You said yeast, u are referring to Instant Yeast, the one used to bake bread?

Baby plankton is actually dry and powered form. It is much smaller than BBS.

Yes, a lot of fries, But tomorrow will be 3 days old, I think i have plankton to tide thru this period, and then boon takes over.

    Haha.. sick fish bothers me.

    Thanks for sharing!

Yeah boon smells. I have never success in keeping boon, even in green water they still die within a week. I am just bad in keeping them. Usually I'll let my fish finish in a day or two.
