    My Shrimp Tank

    17cm by 21cm by 21cm low tech tank with its occupants;

    Orange shrimp
    Cherries
    Fire Red

basically all cheap stuff, because I just started this hobby 2 months ago.

Just late last night, i was pleasantly surprised by this:

I guess theres no need to prepare baby food, right?

@ Mikisol did you use test kits and cycle the tank for a long while?

    Re: Shrimp Babies!!!

I have replied to you in your thread, This hobby does not need to be expensive and definitely some chemistry knowledge is good to have but your fish tank no need to be a test tube. If you want to follow those who buys expensive and fanciful stuff, by all means.

    Re: Shrimp Babies!!!

This is my first round so i don't know what i did right yet, i didn't even see the eggs! But along the way, i made some mistakes.

The shrimp actually migrate a few tanks, until it finally settles down, and parameter were right to breed.

I won't say its secrets but here are some tips:

    #1 Water temperatre - 26deg C - 27 deg C
Don't use expensive chiller, use a fan will do.

    #2 Water change - 20% every 3 days
Use de-chlorinated water, take 1 day or use de-chlorination solution (only $1.50 per bottle)

    #3 feed tetrabits
Twice a day, just enough measured by 3 shrimp per granule.

    #4 plenty of lights
I used plc tubes, no LED which are costly.

    #5 Multi-stage Filter media
5 staged media in the built in filter like the IQ5 Nano.

    #6 No overcrowding
Tank to have multi-level of plants, so that the shrimp have plenty to space to run and also hide.

    #7 - use Bacterial
For the water, i use Biozym Nitrification Probiotics.

#8 - use Azoo Vita Plus and Mineral Plus for the shrimps
    Twice a week

Well, thats all i can think of.

Mikisol, u r funny guy all my stuffs are used item bought fm forum. 1ft tank $10, just bought led light at $40, crs cheap cheap at below market orice fm breeder, eheim 2028 $200, DW& plants I cannot remember much, chiller 150a $200. I do hv extra fan, dw & led light which I hv yet to sell. I'm not trying to breed the shrimps but seeing them die is quite pitiful. So I rather spend $ to keep them alive.
