Congrats ! And for me I don't prepare baby food for the baby
My Shrimp Tank
17cm by 21cm by 21cm low tech tank with its occupants;
Orange shrimp
Cherries
Fire Red
basically all cheap stuff, because I just started this hobby 2 months ago.
Just late last night, i was pleasantly surprised by this:
I guess theres no need to prepare baby food, right?
Congrats ! And for me I don't prepare baby food for the baby
Congrats.
Wondering if I could get some advice from you. my tank is failing. You seem to have great hands in getting them breeding. :-)
Congratulations...
Keep it up... It's always a pleasure to see babies in the tank..
Happy shrimping...

Koayj1,
Fire away! I am also total beginner to shrimp keeping, but i am keen to learn and share. Let me know your question and whereabout u are staying. I am at paya lebar.
Oh, and one more thing; I used only cheap stuff, and breed cheap shrimp.
@ Mikisol did you use test kits and cycle the tank for a long while?
I posted and some members replied. But sounds really complicated to get it going.
I have replied to you in your thread, This hobby does not need to be expensive and definitely some chemistry knowledge is good to have but your fish tank no need to be a test tube. If you want to follow those who buys expensive and fanciful stuff, by all means.
Wow, you are doing so well for your tank. It is amazing having Danio babies, baby shrimps and crayfish egg at the same time
heh heh, i free mah. too much time do not know what to do! My crayfish 8 of them already keep for 3 weeks liao.
Congrats! I hv 2 berried crs myself. Hoping to see the bb soon too. Feel hapi for anyone who succeeded in breeding shrimp.
Heh heh, I remembered a wise old man ever tells me; don't count the eggs before they hatch! heh heh heh!
But nevertheless, can't help feeling happy for you. Share some photos here lei.....
Congrats! Shrimps seem hard to breed.. Care to share some of your tips?

This is my first round so i don't know what i did right yet, i didn't even see the eggs! But along the way, i made some mistakes.
The shrimp actually migrate a few tanks, until it finally settles down, and parameter were right to breed.
I won't say its secrets but here are some tips:
#1 Water temperatre - 26deg C - 27 deg C
Don't use expensive chiller, use a fan will do.
#2 Water change - 20% every 3 days
Use de-chlorinated water, take 1 day or use de-chlorination solution (only $1.50 per bottle)
#3 feed tetrabits
Twice a day, just enough measured by 3 shrimp per granule.
#4 plenty of lights
I used plc tubes, no LED which are costly.
#5 Multi-stage Filter media
5 staged media in the built in filter like the IQ5 Nano.
#6 No overcrowding
Tank to have multi-level of plants, so that the shrimp have plenty to space to run and also hide.
#7 - use Bacterial
For the water, i use Biozym Nitrification Probiotics.
#8 - use Azoo Vita Plus and Mineral Plus for the shrimps
Twice a week
Well, thats all i can think of.
Roughly how many shrimplets have you found so far?
Wow mikisol. U hv done a lot. I'm a 1st timer too. Started 1mth+ but along the way bought chiller, canister, if not crs keeps dying. I'm keeping my fingers crossed to see bb crs soon.
Skvin2002, you have spent a fortune on shrimps!!!!
Chiller $500+
Cannister $100+
Tank $???
Light $???
and many other accessories $priceless
if like that still don't see babies soon, i don't know what will. Hey, post some photo here lei.
hihi, I spent only $65;
15cm X 20cm X 22cm tank with bulit in filter $45
Fan $16
Light $13
That's all!
I want to be your friend (so that I can inherit all the good stuff should you decide to quit, lol).
Hi cheetf,
I really don't know as my foreground plant has grow to 5cm in length and they hide inside, but i managed to see about 6 of them, various size.
Mikisol, u r funny guy all my stuffs are used item bought fm forum. 1ft tank $10, just bought led light at $40, crs cheap cheap at below market orice fm breeder, eheim 2028 $200, DW& plants I cannot remember much, chiller 150a $200. I do hv extra fan, dw & led light which I hv yet to sell. I'm not trying to breed the shrimps but seeing them die is quite pitiful. So I rather spend $ to keep them alive.
