Planaria ganging up on my assasin!!

Recently a lot of planarias(i think) pop out of nowhere and keep gathering around my assasin snail. are they gonna eat my snail up?!

Is your snail moving? The last time a similar thing happened, my snail was dead already.

like never really move leh. will see if its still there when i'm home later. planaria will kill snails?

I don't think erctheanda is saying that the planaria killed his snail, but that the snail had already died due to other causes, and the planaria were feeding on the corpse

Planaria are scavengers

oh but few days ago i see my snail move up my tank and got planaria follow it up to my hanging driftwoods, till my snail get out of water surface

Hmmm... Peculiar. Sounds to me like the planaria is eating the snail. But I don't think that's the case.

Could be that the worms are eating deposits left by the snail? I am not sure though. Are there any other snails in your tank? What happen to those?

suddenly have a lot within 2 weeks because my brother over fed my shrimps

gonna try using my gush catchpen first. don't usually do water changes , only topping up

On the topic of getting rid of planaria, probably can use vermex. Then do the water changes.. Ammonia spikes will ensue.

Try genchem no planaria, work for me.
Shrimps friendly but not to sure about your snails.

Planaria tend to attack dead or weak animals. In your case, likely the snail has already died. If you suddenly had a burst in Planaria numbers, then they probably hitchhiked a ride on one of your shrimps into your tank. I would suggest that you start trapping and removing the Planaria, before they become too numerous and compete directly with your shrimps and shrimplets for food.
