    Re: Diy 3w led

what led you intend to use ? if you follow himyick thread , he's using just 4 banks of 8 xm-l u2 each banks for a 6 feet tank , for 3 feet 2 banks of led x 8 should be enough , total up to 48 watts which is i think is very low power consumption considering t5ho x 4 for 3 feet is already 156 watts

    Re: Diy 3w led

It adds up to 162w.. If i were to follow the wpg rule that would mean 3.375 wpg.. I dont know if it applies to led..

led doesn't use wpg calculation, it involves something much more complicated. color temperature, par level, lenses for spread, color combination and penetration ability.

    Re: Diy 3w led

WPG does not apply to LEDs.
If you're afraid that you might not have enough, or too much, over powering is safer such that you dont need to rewire and get new drivers. Do try to get a dimmable driver so that you can dim the LEDs if they are too powerful.
Light spectrum wise, 6500K should have a balanced spectrum, if you're paranoid, adding Red LEDs should help more with the red spectrum for photosynthetic plants.

Just a side note, do make sure everything is connected properly before you start testing the LEDs, so you wont end up burning more than half the LEDs like i did.

DX offers free international shipping (its already factored into their prices)... postage duration can range between 1-2 weeks to 1-2 months (depends on your luck).

every order came in ? one thing about usa shipping is the more expensive one has insurance included , rapid led provide that hence more expensive shipping , does dx shipping ensure that ?
