Recently I did a rescape due to an algae invasion on my whole tank, but after brushing my driftwood with a toothbrush and clean water, the same algae appears again after Im done setting up my tank.

What should I do to totally rid the driftwood of algae?
    Pour hot water over it?

that looks more like mould than algae to me. if it's white, just leave it, will go off by itself, but if it's an eyesore, you can rub it away or remove using tweezers.

    looks like mould or fungus.
Leave it for a few days. with proper filtration and circulation, it should go away.
