I seriously do not know what is their breeding behavior. The most I can find in the Internet that people successfully breed them using PVC pipes that acts as cave for them.

No luck. Not sure if the adult fish would prey on the fry or not. However recently I manage to isolate 4 fry from the tank. Let's hope they survive.

Congratulations. Looks like your Indostomus are very happy in their current setting. The females lay greenish eggs and if there are small nooks and crannies all over the tank, they will use them as breeding hideouts. Often people fail with Indostomus because they cannot provide a constant supply of live food for the adults. If you're getting babies you're definitely doing something right. Care to share your water parameters?

Hi Stormhawk, I never check my tank parameter, just know that my pH is 6-7, Tds from 140-160. Plenty of hiding place, lots of moss and plant. One thing I seldom siphon the tank. Also I am using inert substrate. Feeding is normal.

However I don't think the fry can survive well, as I have samurai gourami, chocolate gourami, clown killies and galaxy in the same tank.

Get a small breeder box and isolate the fry, so you can monitor their feeding and growth rate.

Alternatively, you can fish them out into a separate container, together with the tank water and add some plants. Change the water as per normal, using the tank water.

A bit tough. Tank is too dense to see fry swimming around.

Then, it's still best to leave them be. If your tank is so dense, there will be fry in there.

    Re: What a pleasant surprise...

The ones sold at GC seem to be mixed. If there is no markings in the dorsal and anal fin, they are true paradoxus. I purchased some myself and am of the opinion that they are either spinosus or crocodilus. There are two batches, one in the tanks just behind the "service counter" and the rest in the white rack on the back facing all the equipment. I have no idea what the ones in the tank with shrimps are but those in the white rack tank are not paradoxus.

I don't think he does. I believe there are paradoxus among them but the majority should be crocodilus.
