Does your Seachem Prime smells like vinegar?

Well mine does..not too sure if it is still safe to use. Expiry date is 2014 though.
Any thoughts from Prime users? Or should I discard and buy a new bottle?
Mine still around 90% full.

I think the funky smell of Prime is normal....I bought a second bottle that also has a funky smell....been using it with no issue....I am contemplating to by the 2 Gallon bottle....

I have same question of doubt. I bought a bottle of Biozym Nitrification Probiotics for shrimp and plant just 2 days ago. Expiration date is 2017. When I open the bottle, it smells terrible like rotten egg. I do feel like vomiting. I had another Biozym Nitrification for fish, but the smell is present.
Not sure if anyone experience the same. My guess it is spoilt, and the bacteria in it may be rotten.

That is different from Prime which is an anti-chlorine.

What you have may be for bacteria seeding and anything which smells like rotten eggs is Hydrogen Sulphide

It's a normal smell when bacteria in the product dies and in the absence of O2, it goes Anaerobic, producing hydrogen Sulphide.

I could be wrong though, but I am pretty sure about it...

Mine doesn't smell like vinegar but it does have a weird smell like something went bad...

I read that rotten egg smell is normal, not sure how close that is to vinegar though. My bottle of prime has no expiry date on it!

Noooo vinegar smell. Like sulfur or rotten egg is normal. Says so on the bottle.

Seachem has stated that a sulphurish smell is normal for Prime. I too used Excel as well and the chemical fume when poring it out make me wanna puke each morning. Ended up getting pressurised CO2 to avoid having to smell Excel on a daily basis.

Mine have that sulphurish smell too, similar to those fumes you smell at those volcanic hot spring
