As above, how would you do it to the various types/sizes of Crypts, without causing major melting of course...

Ummm... I'm just wondering how many other ways can there be?

Cut the unwanted leaves off at the base of the plant. Avoid uprooting them.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.

    Vinz,

Yeah, but like I have some Wendtii, which are pretty bunched up at the base, so cutting the leaves would leave a little "stalk"? Is that ok and the little leaf stalk will eventually just melt away without affecting the rest of the plant?

Ho about Vals, do you guys cut the leaf halfway or desired length or cut it off at the base? I've seen people doing either...

    Sorry for the newbie questions..

why sorry for a newbie qns?

Why do you wan to trim the crypts? the most cmopact they are, they better they look!!

You can either cut all the leaves away or cut selectively as what vinz mentioned.

I have seen friends doing both ways of cutting the vals as well. But the leaves that are cut half way will not continue to grow like stem plants do, and they rot or melt away. So, might as well, cut the entire leave.

Yeah, cut as low as possible and leave the little stalk to melt off by itself.
