I have adjusted my lights timing from 7 am to 12 noon and then from 4 pm to 9 pm. Meanwhile, I have trim away those transparent leaves and monitor to see if existing leaves turn transparent again.

I guess light is not an issue as it is stronger than the UP one and my tank is only slightly bigger than 1 ft

I do not inject any CO2 and henceforth I am using the siesta method to counter that.
I do not know your tank size and the amount of light you put but if you do not plan to inject CO2, you should not use strong light.

That is not correct, fert does not dictate the CO2 level being use, light does. The more light intensity you put, the faster photosynthesis and more fert and CO2 being use. Fail to provide those and all short of problem with arise. In non CO2 injection tank, you need to control your light intensity such that the amount of CO2 require does not exiting what ever available in the tank.

    Re: Nutrient Deficiency?

I do not think its a nutrient problem.

How much wattage and type of lights are you using?

It seems that you are following a form of ei dosing with some techniques from walstad.

I recommend you follow one. Both emphasizes on balance. If you want to mix, I suggest you do that only after you master both separately.

My tank should be about 37 cm (width) X 27 cm (Depth) X 37 cm (Height). I am using Green Element 18W LED light bought from East Ocean.

I think you need to increase your KHPO4.

Below is a good article abt nutrients

I lost another link which talk about chlorosis, and how plants transfer certain nutrients to built on the lapse in certain deficiency. Some nutrients contribute to growth of plants toward absorbing light, some towards helping them to convert co2 found in water.

I found my leaves in this state when I trim my tank today....

I am not sure if this is due to nitrogen or phosphate deficiency.

    Can anyone advise?

    Re: Nutrient Deficiency?

If there is sufficient light, more to Phosphate. Do ensure you have enough iron as well. From the looks if the picture, it's a rooted plant or Nana?

Can you explain more on the iron part?

    Thanks.

If its a rooted plant, use iron tabs and plunge it into the substrate. If its stemmed plants, fern, moss or nana, fert the water.

    Re: Nutrient Deficiency?

IMO it is not enough light and CO2. The plants in picture melting away are higher order plants and need light and CO2. When the lights come on, the plants need CO2 to start the photosynthesis. Starving it (without Co2) simply makes the plant leaf cells die off. I had this problem when I started aquaplanting.

    Re: Nutrient Deficiency?

@horst...insufficient lighting can be a part of the problem. The strange thing I noticed is that the yellows are very small spotting in the middle and more to the tips, and the rest of the leaves are generally green. Perhaps my reference is towards Echino. and Cryptos, when there is insufficient light almost the whole leaf turns yellow and/or starts to turn transparent.

    Re: Nutrient Deficiency?

I don't think light is an issue for me. I am more inclined towards insufficient PO4.

    Re: Nutrient Deficiency?

First photo and the last one you attached show up quite differently for the plant. For the last photo, it looks really like po4 issue.

Potassium and Phosphates I think (KH2PO4).

    Re: Nutrient Deficiency?

Luckily, I premixed KHPO4 and K2SO4 into a stock solution....
