Hi everyone, I'm pretty new to aquarium and is now starting to go into shrimps and live plants. Hope to learn lots from everyone here.

Currently started 2 1 ft tanks, one at home, one at office.

    Hopefully they will do well.

What makes you say that? I'm in the government sector actually.

Talking about photos, when I was going to take a photo of my new tank today, I realized my 2 days old tank became cloudy. It had no fish only some plants. Anyone has any ideas why?

Because in the IT line, the simplest programs we write is one that prints out "Hello World".

Cloudy may be due to bacteria bloom. 2 days old.. i am assuming the tank is not cycled?

Yup, I'm trying to cycle the tank before putting in my shrimps. I'm trying to change 20-30% of water every other day now. Hopeful everything will be fine.

    Re: Hello world

Today the cloudiness cleared up, now the water is crystal clear, how long more before I can safely place my shrimps in?

    Re: Hello world

    Hello and welcome to AQ!

Personally I waited for more than a month to be on the safe side, just put my shrimps in around a week back or so. They are living pretty happily in my tank now. Possible to add some fish food to introduce nitrates to grow beneficial bacteria (BB) too I guess. And remember to acclimatise your shrimps when you get them too!
