Beautiful!! Ive been a little lazy with my tanks and this has fired up my passion again.......well at least a little.
cheers
Personally i like rank 10. Looks like something right out of a fairy tale. Cant see whats so special about rank#1 though. Guess i'm too newbie to appreciate
In my humble opinion, all of them are gorgeous!! Really hard to rank them...
Check out my Blog on planted tank, good for newbies ( i am lazy to retype all the info i know, so please click and read below link... i hope you don't fall asleep while reading)

I am not PERFECT but I am LIMITED EDITION !!! BIG Tank comes with BIG Responsibility...as they makan a lot of $$....lol
beautiful scapes.
8 10 13 are not the type of aquascape we will see often
quite interesting
Amazing and stunning master pieces!!!
all are amazing but is it really feasible?
esp carpet foreground and those plants that are under shade of some objects or plants.
wont they get algae bga or even die out. those parts of the tank without good flow usually has algae.
Thanks for posting the results up Shadow! And congratulations on your win!
All awesome aquascapes... i notice the pathway design is still the most popular layout style. Some the scapes seem to have relatively little plant mass too, just pockets of moss or small plants, mainly emphasize on the rock and wood hardscape.
Do IAPLC judge scapes at different angles? Or do they judge just based on full tank shots from the front?
With the depth perspective looking incredible from the front via the very extreme foreshortening-style layouts in most of the scapes, it'll be quite interesting to get a glimpse of what those scape look like from the side or at an angle too.
It judge based on front tank shot only.
If you watch the live, there was the video from rank #2, it look flat from the side angle.
Congratulations to ahuyeo. I don't see you around. So I do it here! Congratulations

Sad to said quite majority are not. Lots of camera tricks done just for the photo shoots, mostly cosmetic appearance, example are moss that tie on small piece of woods or toothpicks and stuff them between joints or gaps. Some background plant is not even plant down but tie down instead, rocks and woods are good concealer of such. If you are good and have ready stuff, you can do all this within a day and have a photography shot and submit on the same day.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!! TIME TO LAY BACK AND RELAX!

All very nice planted tank. Thank you for posting all those photo.
Beautiful scapes and congrats Shadow!! Personally I enjoy number 17 most. Something new=)
