Its perhaps too late but just for me to be more mindful.
I have a 2 x 1.5 x 1.5 ft tank with eheim 2217 as filtration. The filtration is almost overkill but thanks to the lily pipe i got, it seems ok for now.

    Have the following fauna:
    4 x 3striped pencil fish
    20 x bororas merah
    4 x ottos
    4 x galaxy rasboras
    2 x pygmy corys
    10 x yamato
    20 x fire shrimps

Sounds like overkill of fauna for you guys? If so which one most likely to leave out

It sounds quite ok for me considering the size of your tank. Not really overcrowding. However galaxy rasboras will attack even adult shrimps in my experience, making them a little dangerous in this setup. The boraras and pencil fish will most likely eat shrimplets, but as long as you keep your tank rather densely planted, some shrimplets will be able to survive and your fire shrimps should be able to maintain constant numbers.

    Re: Checking for overcrowding

Choose between the fire shrimp and the Yamato. Most people tend not to mix shrimp of different types together, due to different needs and also because of unwanted aggression. Yamatos can turn into bullies against smaller shrimps. Since you have mostly small fish, I hope you have a pre-filter sponge over the filter intake.

The fish may kill some shrimplets, either through constant harassment like taking a nibble every now and then, but like what Lucas has said, adding more hiding places will result in better survival rates of any fire shrimp babies. I would still remove the Yamato though, just in case, because young shrimplets of other shrimps may be viewed as food.

    Re: Checking for overcrowding

The guideline for water perimeter is 1cm of fish to 3 liters of water.

There is also a guideline for area per fish but this is subjective to type of fish and species aggression.
