I've had very good experience with Blyxa Japonica so far and its currently becoming one of my favorite plants for the mid-ground in a scape.
Was doing abit of reading online and apparently it can turn red... even deep purple in certain conditions = very high amount of light + lots of Co2 + lots of iron.
Here is the photo from Forevermango at Shrimpscape forum:

Has anyone managed to replicate this effect too?

The best I can do was pink and that was using 110watt on top of 2 ft tank.
Just imagine, the forevermango guy is using 150 watt MH plus 2x24w t5ho and its only 10 cm away.

Hmmm... it wouldn't be a bad idea actually, i wouldn't mind getting a fresh bunch of red blyxa from the grower and put in my tank, at least i'll enjoy seeing red blyxa for a few days (until it melts and turn back to green color).
