    Hi all,

I was wondering if it is possible for cabinets to come with wheels attach,
so I can push the tank around if I need to mop the floor or when I want to change the location of my tank
Would it be too heavy? DIY with stronger wheels?

no, not possible, tank makers won't make for you also. wheels will give way after awhile and seriously, pushing something so heavy with high center of gravity, will topple easily

Tank with water is very heavy. Cabinet base is a rectangle box contact surface. With wheels becomes 4 point of contact only. So it will be very stressful on the wheels.

    Re: Cabinet with wheels?

If your version of cabinet is of what people are currently using, then the answer is no. BUT if the frame is made of metal and the tank is no larger than a 2ft cube, it is possible. There are castor wheel that can take a load of 50-100kg each. Another BUT to recognise should you want to attempt to do something similar is that you need to have the bottom of the metal frame for your wheeled set up to be more heavy than the tank that is placed on top. Reason being if the display tank is far heavier, it could topple easily by applying a small force along the length of the frame.

    Hope this helps!

Maybe not stressful on the wheels. But moving the tank, will spill a lot of its water. This can be tested out easily. (push the mopping bucket with wheels) Even moving it slowly, it is difficult not to spill the water. The swaying gets stronger

wow thanks all for the input.
I was thinking of making a metal stand with wheels for tank less than 1feet.
Will definitely take all the advises given here if I were to really make one

small tank like betta tank still possible, but even so, it will scare the fish when you move it. and physics, inertia will cause the sloshing regardless of size, unless it's airtight and filled to the brim

Yeah, i had a 1ft tank on a stand with wheels before... not a good idea, i myself accidentally bumped into it at night and almost a quarter of the water spilled out (along with a few fishes and shrimps who happened to be hanging out at the surface), massive clean up operation after that.

If you have kids in the house even more so, they will confirm run into it within a matter of time.

For tank less than 1ft, you no need will just lift it up and carry it.
