Nice tanks you've got there
hi welcome and well setup over there
Thanks Jaycee & saintdevilz!
I realise some of my plants have been dying, was thinking is it due to lack of CO2...my lights are on about 8 hours a day....perhaps some of them really need a lot of CO2 and lighting.....I have replaced them with anubias and some low CO2 plants recommended by the fish shop....will monitor again...
I am intending to get a big driftwood with long branches spreading out to deco my tank.....
Hi some plants sold at fish shop might not be aquatic. You can always check on tropica website. You can also check their CO2 requirements. Lights on for 8 hrs without CO2 is an algae outbreak waiting to happen.
Read up more on other threads, there is a good source of information here at AQ on Lightings, CO2 and nutrients. They are the foundation of a planted tank.
If you want to have a low low low maintence setup, you may choose nana, moss and java ferns. Low nutrients to prevent algae since your plant mass and growth will be low.
Anyway, just to pre-empt you, Driftwood will leech tannin acid which will make you tank a light "tea color" and presoak will help release the tannin acid as well as help you "sink " the driftwood.

take note that the centre split tone green grass and the fern like plant on the right are not aquatic.
I am balding but i am still young!
Non aquatic plants die when submerged under water. Some non aquatic plants might release toxins when leaf structure is decaying or beoken also.

Most Cray prefers being in full water tank. Normally when u see crays in lfs above water is because the water they are in have little oxygen left.
