You can just leave them on the gravel since they are already tied to the mesh.

yes just leave it on top of the gravel. u may want to bury the sides of the mesh with a little gravel to cover up the ugly sides. at least that's what i do for my riccia tank in the intial stages.

The moss usually will not grow very densely around the edges so you'll be able to see the front edge of the meshes along or near the front glass. You can do what Prec suggested.

Personally, I prefer tying the moss to pebbles. It gives the foreground some undulations which look more natural then a flat field.

Mosses by nature do not float. They will sink. I think you can just leave it at the gravel without the wire mesh. The wire mesh is quite an 'ugly' sight as well. If it is the filter/water movement that cause it to 'run' about, put some gravels/small stones on top of the mosses. The gravel and stones blend into the environment much better than wire mesh. After your mosses are stable growing...they will start to 'anchor' themselves to the surrounding. ie with big patches of mosses, it is unlikely that it will shift in position...happy mossing...

    Hi,

I have use those wire mesh brought from chan (NA). I have use it for my foreground with moss for a year. Recently, I had removed all the 12 pieces of mesh, none of them has rust.

If you are going to use it for your foreground, it will take at least 3 mths to get it all cover without seeing the mesh. Moreover your water temp must be kept low for it to grow faster.

Another point to take note is that after growing the moss to about 2-3 inches thick, you will see that a lot of dirt or shit being trap in the moss. My advice is to regularly trim your moss & vacuum it frequently during water change.

You also need to think about when rescaping your tank, once you remove the mesh, your tank will be completely clouded by the dirt trap in-between the mesh & the gravels.

    Good luck.
    Cheers
