    Hi all!

    My planted tank is currently experiencing some unknown plants growing on my ADA soil. It looks similar to glosso but it has only 1 red leaf. There's multiple growth of this unknown plants everywhere in the open areas of the ADA soil. I am quite sure that it is not glosso as I have never tried to attempt to grow glosso in a 2ft deep tank. Also, there are no new addition of plants for the last 6 months or so. The only red plants I have in this tank is a red lotus which has flowered 3 times in the last couple of months. The flower are not cut off and is usually left in the tank to melt. The surface of the soil has not been 'vacuum' for a few months too and any attempt to do it now would risk removing these new plants.

    Plants list;
    cryptocoryne albida, cryptocoryne crispatula var. balansae, vallisneria, tonina, echinodorus 'rubin narrow leaf', nymphaea lotus 'red' and blyxa japonica.

    On a side note, I do not have any digital cam to take a few pics of these new plants. Only noticed these plants just a couple of days ago. The size of the leaf is almost the same as glosso but there is only a single red leaf potruding out of the soil unlike glosso. Anyone got any ideas what plants I have ?

    I can only guess it's the Nymphae lotus.
    Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
    Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
    A woman, without her man, is nothing.
    A woman: without her, man is nothing.

    Yep,
    I agree it's likely n.lotus. Likely grown from seeds from ur flower (or runners). They are likely to grow near the parent plant if runners n I believe soon u will be able to see clearer.
