Did the food grow white stuff in the tank or in the packet?

If it happen in the packet then throw it out... means gone bad and rotting already.

If it happen in the tank, it means you overfeed and the food is being left in there too long. Usually only leave food in the tank for at most 10-15 minutes then remove or it'll foul the water.

Yeah, food should only be left in the tank for a short while (most foods a few minutes, some types can last for up to an hour or two), whatever the fishes and shrimps can't finish within that time just remove, then reduce subsequent feeding accordingly until no wastage... leaving food to rot in the tank just pollutes the water and contributes to tank problems.

You can just get those acrylic or glass feeding dishes, most shrimp keepers use them to monitor the feed... helps prevent most of the food pieces from scattering around the tank too.

You can check at the various popular LFS, i got a few 6-7cm diameter glass petri dishes from Y618 a while back, cost only $1-2 each... there are also the higher quality glass ones with branded logos that go for $10+ at other LFS too.

Alternatively you could also just use the plastic cap of a container to act as a makeshift feeding dish too.
