Newts are illegal as pets under AVA regulations. While we cannot discuss on where and how to get the newts, here is a link for the info you seek:

They do not do well in our warm climate.
I used to own some tree frogs but now I'm pretty interested in setting up a vivarium for newts.
What are some of the differences I should take note of for the set up?
Also I've been trying with great difficulty to obtain FBN but I'm unable to do so
Would really appreciate some advice! Thanks

Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
Thanks for the information.
That's a pity, I've seen some in LFS awhile back and I thought they were pretty interesting..
Haven't seen any around lately though
There are many forums on the net dedicated to newts. Go research
I keep sulawesi shrimps, tetras, birds, exotic pets, herptiles and monster fishes.
Unfortunately, the AVA does not like the idea of us keeping amphibians and such in our homes, except for the White's Tree Frog, which is a species allowed under AVA regulations. No newts are on the list as yet.
