Hi bro, You could see my 3 ft discus planted tank setup and my trip here: http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...h-planted-tank
However I realize that some of the plants grow very fast and they can grow higher than water surface.
Here is a picture of my mature 3ft tank:

Thought that a 2ft height tank should do better for planting. And 2 weeks ago, my friend gave me his 4 ft tank, which is made by CLEAIR Aquatics. The tank is nicely made with front curve, dimension is 4ft length x 1.5ft width x 2 ft height. Exactly what I want, so start my new project.

The first thing is to buy a 4ft light set. And I found an used 4ft light from DE Lighting 4x54W T5 Retrofit from a bro. The brand new one cost 420$ (http://www.delightings.com/index.cfm?GPID=84) but he kindly gave me at much lower. Thanks for his generous.
Here is the DE lighting, comes with 4 tubes and 4 separate reflectors, which I feel quite brighter.

The second thing to do is the most difficult step, move all plant out from my 3ft tank, and transfer all soil from my 3ft tank to a new 4ft tank. It was heart broken to remove all the plant out from my beloved tank.

OK, start with new tank. The water is very cloudy in a first day, and I did water change every day. After a few days, the water is much better. And here is my new tank:

Hope you enjoy my new tank. Thank you very much. Special thanks to bro David and bro Tony for you encouragement and suggestion in my initial trip.

How many weeks is the photo taken for the 4ft? Your glosso is very lush.

No problem for 2ft height? Must be good lights then. Haha.

I transferred the whole carpet of glosso from the old 3ft to the new 4ft tank, so it took only 1 week for the glosso carpet to root on the new substrate. Yes, I have quite good light so 2ft height is not a problem.

Planted Discus tank for me is the most difficult to achieve in freshwater aquarium. Your set up is really beautiful. Mind to share your water changing regime? And what fertilizer you use for plants too?? Thanks!

Nice carpet! It seems to me that you lifted up the whole carpet and just put it in your new tank. Must be a back breaking job putting back all the plants.

    Thumbs up!

could you list your tank parameters? i noticed your cabombas grow so nice and bushy! I can't seem to get mine to grow properly, they are always leggy.

Very nice setup bro. Quick question, the discus is able to adapt in water environment with CO2? pardon my ignorance..

Indeed a very relaxing site! Care to share your water regime? I thought discuss require frequent water change, will that 'waste' your fertz and co2? Thanks

Love how you started off with your 3ft scape and quite simply the current setup is magnificent! Really proves that a careful selection of fish adds to the beauty of the aquarium.

As almost everyone mentioned, I'm quite intrigued that you only began a couple of months back! Nonetheless, I'm definitely following your threads from now on! Kudos to you, bro!
