Can some kind souls give me some ideas on how to do a moss lawn. What's the best base material to attach/tie the moss? How do you do regular trimming or 'mowing'?

This recent thread covers most of your questions.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Thanks Vinz, but I have in mind something like removable pieces or sections of the lawn where u can relocate or retrieve for trimming.

Err, yeah, the answers are there. Tie to flat pebbles, slate or small flat driftwood, ranging from palm size downwards. Lay these on the gravel.

When you want to trim or relocate them, just pick them up. Also convenient to rinse if you do major uprooting and the stirred up mulm settles in the moss.

Pieces of cork bark can be used too.
