PH level from your tap water

    Hi,
just want to check what's the PH level from your house tap water.
pH lever for my house tap water is 6.0 only, so regular water change will not bring up my fish tank PH level. Any method out there to bring up my tank ph to 7.0? By the way, I have already got coral chip in my sump tank.

Wow... thats low pH for local tap water. Maybe try measuring it again to double-check?

From what i've gathered amongst other aquarium keepers (and my own tests on tap water from various parts of Singapore), local tap water usually averages around 7.0-7.6 pH, maybe you can check the pH of your neighbours home or someone else in your estate to see if there is any difference.

Im I using PH meter as above. I have also got the ph 7.0 buffer to confirm my ph meter is working properly.

    FYI, I'm staying at sembawang.

Its best to do a two point calibration instead of just one point... get a pH 4.00 buffer solution so that you can calibrate the pH meter at 7.0 and 4.0, then it'll get much more accurate pH readings.

When i first got my pH meter i also just did one point calibration with only 7.0 solution (figured i'd save some money by not buying the 4.0 solution), then one day i double checked the readings with a reagent-based pH test kit and discovered the measurements were actually way off.
