Sam Yick is the place to get killies.
They are agressive towards shrimps....lost wood & blue shrimps to them. Saw some with their tails protruding out of my killies' mouth.

What da fish!
You can check out Nanyang at Seletar Farmway, they were selling a variety of killies.
panchax is OK, but do not mix big-mouth genus like Nothobranchius with Boraras.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Panchax are NOT ok. They're very fast-moving predators. Don't mistake tiny mouths for inability to kill. Neither are nothos. They will eat smaller fish. Anything that fits or are too small to defend themselves will become meals for the fishes.
Kross, you must have a large Fundulopanchax. They will make a meal out of your shrimp, especially if they're small and just moulted their shells.
prec, I would not mix killies with Boraras. Killies are not made for community tanks with small fish like the Boraras. There's only several that can be mixed with the Boraras but they're hard to come by and only available on occasions. I would recommend you only the small dwarf lampeyes (Poropanchax spp.) and the Clown Killie (Pseudepiplatys annulatus).

panchex are not ok! I agree with you. I saw the whole incident of the panchex chasing my yamato till it give up and let the fish swallow the him slowly like a pythion
people are also confused because the yellow killie which is usually referred to as panchax is actually the gold form of Aplocheilus lineatus, which is from India, and a greedy predator of shrimps and small fish.
Aplocheilus panchax is a native and Southeast Asian killie that is smaller than A. lineatus, much less predatory and typically silvery in colour. But it's very rarely sold in LFS.
On occasions one can find these Aplocheilus species for sale at the LFS. Its just that species like Aplocheilus panchax, lack the colours like those found on the gold variant of Aplocheilus lineatus, thereby making them less attractive to buyers. The local panchax are quite common in our waterways, according to some sources, although I wouldn't encourage people to catch them. It is however unfortunate that the common name "panchax" is also applied to more aggressive species like the Golden Killie aka Aplocheilus lineatus "Gold".
The only safe killies in my opinion would be the lampeyes. These fellas are small and stay small in size. Will occasionally harass younger shrimp and smaller fish but they remain comparatively peaceful in comparison to the other killies. Larger species will prey on anything that moves, including their young.
