    Hi tureblue82,

Are you able to provide details on the shells being rough? Perhaps by visual inspection you notice different shades of colour?

My fingers haven't been fast enough to touch the back of a shrimps shell to feel if it's rough or not.

The "racing stripe" that sometimes appears on the backs of shrimp shells is relatively common... from my observation it seems to be temporary and would usually disappear after it molts (might also re-appear again as the shell grows), probably depends on their diet and water conditions.

yeah, i am worried if those racing strips are signs of problematic conditions or is it every shrimp keepers get them once in a while? ...on closer observation looks like golden back kind of stripes.

    Thanks for the answers.
