Yeah, GC has a nice and healthy selection of Boraras Brigittae, i got the majority of mine from there.

C328 also have regular supplies of them, they are sold in large bags of 30pcs, check the the shop boss. Most tend to be juvenile size and look abit pale in the bags though, so they'll need abit more time to condition to full color. You can also usually buy them individually from the tiny tanks in front of the counter too.

If I still remember correctly, I heard from c328 auntie and seaview before, they call it 小蚊子 aka little mosquito, however they generally classified all small rasboras as that, not harlequin rasboras or those other bigger rasboras

I believe GC placed both types together, I was looking for those really red with black stripe, because they are so tiny I gotten most with the "eye" pattern that's a mixture of little orange and red instead haha...

They will occasionally snack on new born 2-3mm length shrimplets that are not clever enough to hide (newborn shrimplets look abit like copepods, which boraras brigittae also like to eat), but they will usually leave the older juvenile shrimplets alone.

If you have lots of plants and ample places for the shrimplets to hide, the majority of them will usually survive and grow large enough not to be eaten.

Eventually the shrimps will grow even larger than the boraras brigittae themselves.

Yeah, it depends on timing... i find that they usually re-stock the fishes on wednesdays, and those fishes are usually sold out very quickly, so have check regularly.

Depends, if the rasboras do not have enough to eat, they will start hunting shrimplets. Due to their small size, they can easily swim in and out of plants hunting for food. So shrimplets still not really safe.

If you really want to play safe, just get 1 rasboras.

Alternatively, you can consider clown killies too.

I agree with that too... alot depends on the ratio of the fishes vs shrimps.

I had 20+ boraras in a tank with 10 cherry shrimps, even though i regularly spotted the shrimps berried, i never got to see any actual shrimplets and the population stayed the same for months... so moral of the story is, don't let the predators vastly outnumber the prey, best to have very few fishes and alot of shrimps.
