Bro why do you have to buy shrimps from overseas? There's a shop specialising in Shrimps in SG and they have very very good quality shrimps.

Hi everyone, just want to ask anyone who has bought shrimps and have them shipped to Singapore from overseas before:
1) How long did you have to wait for your shrimps and what are the survival rates like?
2) Did the AVA confiscate your shrimps for inspection before releasing them to you? What are the procedures like and how long did it take?

Generally, time in transit depends very much on how fast the postal service in the country of origin works, so it will be variable. Where Japan is concerned, transit time via EMS (at least for other items like toys etc) to Singapore is roughly 2-3 days, which is dependent on the location of the seller. The closer he/she is to a major international airport, the faster it goes off from Japan.

I still remember my post from that time. I guess my questions now are more on how often will your parcel be checked by AVA, and if checked, how long do they take before they release the shrimps to you. I realize the additional time by AVA may be longer than the transit time of the parcel.
That depends on how fast the staff at the AVA station works. You can email them directly for an answer as to how long a package takes to clear their inspection.
