May I know why is my mist maker increasing the temperature in my paludarium? Have it submerged in around 4cm below water level as stated on instruction but it heats up my tank to 4 degree hitting 34degree and my vampire crab actually started foaming. Have removed it already, and I think it gets hotter and hotter each time. The first day I left it on overnight and didn't realised any increased in temperature, now it heats up to 4 degree within an hour. When I remove it, I saw some rust foaming on the under side of the mist maker.

Is it a defect item or my improper usage? The tank is cover to keep the humidity and light is on 10 hours.

Here it is The volume of water in your tank probably isn't enough to dissipate the heat from the mist maker All motors produce some heat, and since yours is rusting, maybe best to just not use it.

Thanks for the reply and digging the post out for me! I guess it's not suitable for small tank since I have very little amount of water. But I will get an exchange since there's rusty water coming out from it and try the suggestion of have another container to make the fog and let the fog goes into the tank.

You don't need a mist maker for your paludarium, since humidity levels are already high in a tropical nation like ours. In fact right now as I post this, Google shows 94% Humidity for our current weather. What you need however, is ventilation, to keep things cool in your tank. A covered tank is literally a greenhouse in our climate. Bad idea for some animals.
