Hi guys I'm using soil from crs haven and been cycling tank for about a week and a half. I used crs liquid bacteria, mosura bt9 and a zoo max bio ball, suddenly my water turn cloudy and it has been like that for 5 days already. What is happening? Should I change all the water or? Ammonia reads at 1ppm and no nitrite, about 6.6 ph

I am balding but i am still young!
Bacteria bloom....normal
Check out my Blog on planted tank, good for newbies ( i am lazy to retype all the info i know, so please click and read below link... i hope you don't fall asleep while reading)

I am not PERFECT but I am LIMITED EDITION !!! BIG Tank comes with BIG Responsibility...as they makan a lot of $$....lol
As mentioned in the other thread, you just have a bacterial bloom in the tank... usually when different bacteria solutions are added to a tank, the bacteria population explodes in numbers and hence the cloudiness, thats a common occurance.
As the cycle progresses and your tank conditions stabilize, the cloudiness will disappear on its own.
Thanks guys, roughly how long will it take before it disappears?
It'll depend on the various bacteria types and how much "food" (ie. ammonia, nitrite) available for them to consume and multiply.
The cloudiness can sometimes clear up in as quick as a few hours... or in your case, probably due to multiple bacteria solutions added, could be many days before it eventually clears. Just have to wait and see.
If the cloudiness persists for a prolonged period (like many weeks), then you should check if the filter is working properly, as the couldiness might instead be due to the filter allowing fine particles to constantly circulate back into the tank.

Okay thanks do I have to do water changes?
Is it normal to still have 0 nitrite even though it's been a week and half?

What is your ammonia and nitrate level?
Ammonia 1 ppm 0 nitrite
not nitrite, but nitrate. What is your nitrate level?
The speed of the cycle varies between tank to tank, it can take as fast as 3-4 weeks to achieve a stable cycle (sometimes even quicker)... or up to 7-8 weeks, just have to wait.
In some cases, you may see ammonia start to decrease and then nitrate start to increase, but the nitrite levels still show zero throughout the cycle, this is quite common as the bacteria that process ammonia to nitrite and the bacteria that process nitrite to nitrate have different growth speeds, so nitrite is being converted as fast as its generated, hence become undetectable.
around 1 ppm
thanks guy i see improvement in my water already
