@Shadow,The 3ft tank is made, actually free gift from lim_777 *thanks bro* and is at home now, so abit difficult to move to frame shop.

@felix_fx2, daiso got sell meh. never see leh. nevermind, i ask someone to hunt it down.

The background of the problem is.. this is meant to replace a 3ft tank for my mom's RES. the RES keep disturbing my powerhead.. every few days the power head will be moved out of position. so i needed a IOS tank.

but the IOS tank water level is too high.. RES will climb out and go for excursion in the house and go missing.
so to lower the water level, need to make a cut to one of the IOS panels.

I see, I though you have piece of glass and want it to cut to size.

Maybe easier if you remove the whole IOS partition and use canister filter.

Thanks for the advice. Ya, that's definately one alternative and fallback.. If I screw up the glass cutting or res want to gymnastic out of the tank all the time.. I will cut the silicon or revert back to 3ft. Haha

why dont just cover the tank , the cutter might not fit inside , quite little room to work with

Hmmm. Never consider the length of the cutter though. Covering the tank will cause the res not want to climb onto the floating platform. Tried to cover with egg crates once when he ventured to the window and got stuck there.. He refused to come up to the platform and feed after that.

Eric, you don't have to cover the whole tank top if it affects the RES. Just get a piece of egg crate and cut it to size to cover the top, then cut another hole in the middle like an airwell thing. That way the corners are covered and the RES will not be able to bypass the perimeter unless it morphs into a hamster or rat. :P

    thanks for the reply.

that little fella just does not like anything on top of where he basks. I have tried putting a food timer on 1 glass plane where he basks and he still stays in the water the whole day.. waiting for the food to drop into the water... i feel he wants to be able to see any approaching humans. the moment the vision is hindered, he stays in the water. pesky little fella.
