I don't exactly have a fixed routine for main food. But I do give them BW stout/Mosura bioplus and Lowkeys mineral kale once per week.
Hi all,
I am curious to know your feeding routine to your shrimps on daily, weekly or even monthly basis.. Hoping for anyone to share this info.
I am currently keeping cherry and low grade crs at the moment in a 20l tank. Feeding Mosura excel daily (1 flat scoop) and mosura gravidas on alternate days (1 flat scoop). Not sure if that is excessive but so far no ammonia buildup.
Thanks and have a nice day ahead!

Recent studies shows that putting recent studies in your statement have a higher percentage of trust people put into your recent studies. What?
Seeking advise from fellow bro and sis.
Will unconsumed food in the tank cause TDS to rise?
I wouldn't say food won't be unconsumed in a matured tank. Food not eaten by shrimps will sink into the substrate and bacterial will take over and break it down, therefore, would also contribute to TDS

Oh I see.
No wonder I kept seeing my TDS increase even though I use DI water to top up and I did not add new stuff into the tank.
I seldom remove un eaten food from the tank, so now I think I need to be more hardworking now.
Thanks bro Naraki for the advise.
Thanks for sharing, bro Naraki.
For the lowkeys mineral kale, do you mean the product name, Ultra Supple?

Its good to use a feeding bowl/dish.
I used to feed everyday but there will be leftovers on the dish.
So slowly I find that my shrimps will finish the food completely every other day.
To keep the tds down, what I do is to take the left over after 30 min- 1hr or they not responding.
I use Lowkeys Ultra Supple and some shrimp wafers for my bkk, bb, crs, prl, pbl, fancy tiger.
Hope I gave u some new ideas. Cheers!
Anyone here tried to feed vegetables??
I feed my CRS with boiled spinach about once a week and they love it.
Zucchini, cucumber and even grape works. Just peel the grapes skin and you're good to go

My shrimp diet:
- Mosura CRS Specialty
- Mosura Excel
- Mosura Brood Care
I have the habit of removing their food after 2-3 hours later.
I saw a tank once with over 50 CRS in a 2.5 foot heavily planted tank. The owner doesn't feed the shrimps and doesn't change the water and the shrimps have been thriving for a few years. Only when he sees that the algae level is growing low, he then feed abit.
I used to feed small amounts daily but now I just feed every 3 to 4 days. Leftover food will be removed overnight. I did see less shrimp deaths after I started doing that but I won't definitively say that it's due to my change in feeding schedule.
The point I'm trying to put across is that shrimps are used to not eating everyday, and they prefer to spend most of their time foraging. And during their foraging they will also eat microbacteria so the only way they will starve to death will be overpopulation.
My shrimplets are stuck in their small size, around 5mm. Any (food) recommendation how I can fatten them up?

i think you should feed powder food more often. it helps mine grow quicker. small dosage daily.
Thanks dales. I have mosura excel, gravidas and bioplus and they are in powder form. In my opinion, powder form is good as it can allow more even distribution of the food in the tank but it will be impossible to remove the leftovers. Understand your point about small dosages to prevent leftovers but I just can't be sure.

I believe it all depends on your tank setup. Correct me if im wrong. Type of filtration and amount of plants (not mosses) does play a role in keeping good water quality. If u have a good filtration, which most of us like to overfilter and a good amout of plants, you dont have to worry much about water quality degrading if u feed small amount daily. Works for me.
