Hi guys, I just purchased a eheim classic 150 2211. I read the instructions but it doesn't really explain how to prime it. I've searched online for a solution but all the solution require you to have a on off valve which I don't have. I tried the sucking metjod but I don't know if I'm doing it correctly. Really don't know what to do already HELP!!

Yeah, the Eheim instructions tend to be abit vague (especially for first-time users)... priming a canister filter is better described in pictures or video, rather than in words.

Here is a video on how to prime it, just via a quick search on YouTube:

You don't need double taps (aka on/off taps) to prime the filter, those just help to control flow and make maintenance abit easier.

Personally I find sucking method quite disgusting. So I use a power head to pump water into the filter till full and water coming out from the outlet and switch it on. There could be many method to do so but the idea is to fill up the canister and both in/outlet before switching it on.having the valve would help in subsequent priming as water are already kept in the hose of in/outlet so just use gravity to work for you. It is also much convenience when do maintenance, no mess.
