Ammonium occurs in low ph tanks. Which is non lethal. I only use wool in submersible filter for my cull tank. And they have Lowkeys aquatailor slab which contaIns zeolite just in case something went wrong and ph went above 7 and ammonium is converted to ammonia,Zeolite is there to absorb. But well. In my main tank. They have the same setup but with ceramic ring. I doubt there is even ammonia or even benefical bacterial to begin with.

Just follow up with water changes according to your preference and to reduce tds
Recent studies shows that putting recent studies in your statement have a higher percentage of trust people put into your recent studies. What?

Quick question is it OK to have a filter with just cermic rings? Also where to get wool in Singapore Oo.... I do follow up in water change but currently rather then changing water cause cold water and hot air = water vapour I am adding water weekly rather then change. BTW is chiller really a need for shrimp tank I know I am like asking 101 stupid questions

Wool can be obtained in any LFS. Just look or ask around.

My tank evaporates 1 litre every day so I'm constantly topping up. However note that water change is still a must to reduce nitrate and prevent your TDS from skyrocketing.

Depending on what shrimps you are having. If you are just keeping cherry/fire reds, a simple fan would do the trick. For more expensive type of shrimps, a chiller could then be considered.

Take it slowly, I am having my exams as well and I take this chance to not bother my shrimps and let them settle themselves in their own tank.
