Anyone knows if UG will grow through the wire mesh if I lay the mesh on top of UG as an anchor to prevent it from being pulled out by shrimps initially?

I have not done this before but I think they can grow through the mesh. They can creep very well. When I covered them with substrate fully, they actually grow out of it.

    Hi hi.. yes you can!

I manage to buy UG that was on wire mesh (submerged) and then managed to propagate them.

After the propagation I took the additional loose ones and also tied them to wire mesh and now they are growing well. I will try to get some photo to share.

Thanks for sharing! I'm referring to having wire mesh on top to prevent them from being uprooted in the initial stage and eventually use it as an anchor of sort. Lazy to tie UG on mesh (The tissue culture is so fine...)
