I thought it look the worst of the three I posted. Thanks.

It once looked better when there were more Java Moss growing at the bottom so much so that the scene look much like a Windelov mountain with clouds of moss below.

    Juggler,

How long have your Windelov's been in there? Any growth? My JF's stagnate then eventually die in low maintenance tanks.

OTOH, I find Anubias fare much better with reduced size and very slow but noticeble growth.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.

The Windelovs have been in there for a year plus I think. Those on the driftwood in the fry tank is what is left of it. The bigger pieces have been pruned for use in the 1ft cube tank or given away.

*sigh* Darn the un-predictability of plants! I can grow in Blyxa japonica in low-tech tanks, but not Java ferns. SHEESH!

Juggler, what do you feed the fauna in these tanks? I find that low tech planted tanks that have worked well for me in the pass have been those that get frozen bloodworms for food. Not suprisingly, since raw foods lead to higher waste from the fauna and more nutrients for the flora.

I feed them some Tetra Bits about twice a day. I don't over feed.

    its a very kukubird question.
but intend to get a 30x15x15 5plan tank with 11watt PL or 10 watt FL (standard fitting) and also DIY CO2, i will try to make a riccia or glosso carpet.

my question is, assuming i dun have fish in the tank and also i control the parameters meticulously, If i leave the lighjts on 24 hrs to speed up growth of this carpet, are there any debilitating negative effects?

plants won't get additional benefit from having 24 hours lighting ... so make it 8-10hrs a day and they will reward you with beautiful growth

hi joe, your low tank is anything but greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat. You made juggler's tanks look pale (no offence), which in fact is not. Juggler's tanks were good too.. but yours, with 24deg/c. I can really see the impact, the moss is 'flaring'!

Wow. Someday I must emulate this kind of low-tech system. How long has the tank been set up? Did you try no water change at all?
