    today no deaths yet.
Only tetras with velvet disease and perhaps rummy noses with same problem.
There must be things I can do meanwhile...

    Wouldn't CO2 meant high tech?

Nah, the Co2 was there to "jumpstart" the growth of the plants in the beginning, the co2 will be depleted soon. output very slow now haha

    Bacopa Carolianiana
    E. Tenellus
    Windelov & Java fern

    ...
Is it difficult to setup a CO2 system, particularly connecting the canister to the rest of the tubes?

I've had this affect a few of my rummy noses as well. it starts as a small splotch near the dorsal fin and within a day or a few days the discolouration would spread to how it looks like in the photo. Not long after, the fish would just die.

Not difficult actually, its just the tank, tubes, bubble counter, check valve, and then the diffuser. (Most basic setup)

Any step-by-step guides to follow? Especially the part on connecting the gas canister to the regulator-cum-solenoid?

here you go bro, got this from youtube

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdOFCatSPKo

The solenoid may differ from setup to setup, in this video, it had the integrated bubble counter.

I came across the same video as well, but nonetheless, thank you for searching for me. It looks straight-forward from the video, but I will hesitate because I never know something may crop up/be different when I set one up by myself. Based on the video, I think I lack an adjustable wrench as well. Btw, this is the textual link I was also referencing previously:

LittleGreenCorner:Setting up CO2 system for planted aquarium

I shall see if I can find any CO2 setup video connecting an atomizer from the CO2 section to the filter inlet/outlet...I'm not even sure if my regulator can deal out adequate pressure for my atomizer to work properly too!

Usually, a pressurized system should be able to make short work of the atomizer. Unless its diy co2 hehehe..

Just incase if you are wondering, my tank is approx 5L one, with a taiwan soleniod> tube > bubble counter > check valve > tube > check valve > diffuser.

I kept it simple since the tank is small anyways.

If you go polyart for example, you can request the shop keeper to fix up the solenoid for you. All you need is just to connect the tube and viola!
