Hey... this tank was 3/4 sand (front) and 1/4 soil (back) but was decommissioned last year august, i changed into full sand now with just anubias nana so there's no headache for trimming/maintaining or CO2 injection

thanks barmby for the kind comments. please remove? as in, the setup suits our region's fauna as compared to Amazonian? haha honestly I inherited the school of matured harlequins from a friend who changed to a cichlid setup. guiltily, I did not pay much attention to where my plants or fish come from, only the type of water parameters required (still count myself new to the hobby, happy to even keep everything alive). will pay attention to the kind of biotope in future scapes

Are the dimension ml on inches?

I wish the pic had been taken looking at it from the front instead of at an angle It causes me eye strain to try to pic out the plants.

hi hilde, the dimensions are in cm haha I posted that angle because I thought it's a nice perspective of the tank (I like to sit on the floor and look up at it). there's another reason why I didn't post a fts..

here's a pic of it from the front

as you can see, there are patches that hasn't been filled in! that's because I started off the tank using PL lights, and because I did some minor shifting of plants awhile ago. I'm currently trying to cover up that left patch either with S. repens or A. nana petite.

again thanks for the kind comments which I really don't think my tank deserves!

Does your floating plants melt under the Green Element Evo light? I had a previous bad experience of my frogbits melting, not sure if the light was the reason.

Why only put Excel twice per week?
    It's supposed to be daily
