And my 200l Aquadcape. I've tried DIY Co2 before on this one. Just prompted more algae growth and explosions which drenched my house with Baking Soda and Citric acid concoctions...... I'm glad we can all do great Aquadcape without the need for costly Co2.

This is my first try at a sand based low tech tank. Just set up a few days ago. Still no livestock yet.
Wow, very promising looking set up, any updates after the past 6 months Zep?
I added in some floating plants and it sort of took over the tank. Guess it spoiled the look
but the inhabitants love it.
The shrimps like to hang onto the roots of the floating plants so i will be keeping it as it is.
This was taken about 1.5months ago before the floating plants took over the tank.
Hi zep,
Want to ask a few question.
Is your tank chilled/fan? If not, can the bucep plant survive?
Lastly, whats the lighting wattage?
I have a hang on fan. Keeps the tank temperature to about 27-28 deg. Hot days can go to 39 deg. Recent weeks the temperature can go down to 25 deg because of the cool weather.
The buceps are doing ok I guess. I don't have chillers for my tanks so I can't compare. Maybe you can ask the bucep pros here.
The LED light is 16.5w. Guess it's considered medium to low. With the floating plants now covering 85% of the tank surface it's like sunset everyday.
I mean temperature can go to 29 deg. Not 39 deg. Typo.
