    Suggestion for terrapin 'island'?

My family recently adopted a terrapin, it is about 20 cm long and we keep it an old toyogo box (about 45x60x30 cm). I want to raise the water level at least 3-4 times the terrapin's height but currently I have no idea what to use as the island. I tried to use a smaller container but it was too slippery for it to climb up on. I checked out the pet shop in Vivocity but the turtle islands are really expensive.

    Any suggestions?

You can make your own DIY island or platform to any design in your imagination by using those corrugated plastic sheets which you can buy from Popular Book Store. They come in many colours and it can be cut easily to any shape. First you design your item, then draw the outlines on it and cut out the pieces to be glued together, but you must make sure you use waterproof glue so that it will not soften in the water after a few days. UHU glue may be used but you must test it to see if it will last in water after drying. If the structure is too light after completion, you can weigh it down by attaching lead tape (the type that are used to bind aquarium plants). Of course you can decorate your platform with other things, like seashells, wood, course and, rocks, or even small plants. Only your imagination is the limit.
