It has been more than 2 years since I had my last aquascape...making a comeback after a place i called my own. (mum didn't like that time)
Took at least 2 weeks to setup completely, after hunting for plants, wood and rocks, change of lights from pro Z to EVO 3W.
With very limited space on built-in tv cabinet, it holds a 2ft tank, with no more space for a canister filter and large CO2 tank.

    Tank size: W60cm x D30cm x H36cm
    Lights: EVO 3W x 16
    Fan: Dymax Vortex
    Substrate: ADA Amazonia Soil
    CO2: 2 bps (1 litre cylinder-only can accommodate a small cylinder)
Plants: Anubias Nana Petite, Bolbitis Heudelotii, (Not sure which type of) Cryptocoryne, Hairgrass, HC, Java Moss, Hydrocotyle, Rotala Rotundifolia, Rotala Sp Green, Spiky Moss, Taiwan Moss
Fauna: currently Nerite and Ramshorn snails, 3 SAEs

Nice forest looking scape, imo think you may want to consider the following

    1) adding some background plants to fill out the back
    2) No filter? (try position your diffuser below the outflow of your filter)

Re: Making a comeback with my 2 ft tank

Hof definitely not strong enough to dispense the co2 bubble around your tank

try get eheim 2211 (small size canister) or 2213, better can store more media

or you can put a small wave maker, if your water flow too low will soon have hair alage etc...
Do not visit LFS if you got nothing in mind, you will end up getting nothing or useless stuff ......

Re: Making a comeback with my 2 ft tank

Hangon canister filter (i assume totto) is not cheap. I rather invest in what HEman bro suggested 2211 or 2213. But i think 2213 is just nice, better flow, more media space.

Is 1tr Co2 very little? Need to top up quite frequent and it is running at 2bps. how about getting a bigger one and put it on the floor and use longer tubing. 1tr use as spare during CO2 topup.

If get the classic eheim, do consider getting the quick release plugs. Easier for cleaning. May want to consider Eco pro 130 if budget allows. I'm using one with same size tank as yours.good flow rate and bigger media space.

Have you considered doing a DIY filter? With DIY, you can make a filter to ANY spec and capacity you desire, rather than spending big sums of money on canisters, etc. But you will still need to spend some money on good media.
