The stock announcement lists at Arofanatics forum are useful too (mostly dealing in goldfishes, arowanas and larger fishes, but some of the LFS listed deal in smaller fishes too, like JZX):

Just got back from there yesterday. Still ah-chee-ing and ah-chor-ing on whether do i NEED a CO2 system installed or not.
Operating hours is 10am to 7pm from Monday to Fridays and 10am to 5pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays. I think the other thread is not updated. I will scoot over there now.
Scooted back.
Cannot update that thread. Its locked.
$300? I worked mine to less than $200 after discount at Seaview.
ANS Regulator (electrical), Bubble Counter/Check Valve, Diffuser, CO2 Tank and tubes. All less than $200. Maybe splurge abit more for a precision/needle valve. Is there something missing here?
The 300+ is GC price. .I think they use Gush products. .got pics to share? I still thinking of trying to diy co2. Lol

Nope. Sorry. No picture to share. I just gather all these from my countless trips to various LFS. I gathered that a slightly better than basic system: dual gauge, electronic solenoid, 2L tank with bubble counter, check values and one of those cool-looking glass diffuser works out to around the $200 region. Possible to get it under $200 if you do not take it transport cost. :P
If you are married then you also got to factor in bribe money, again depending if you getting Kate Spade or Long Champ. If you are lucky, you get away with Kipling.
Lol..you hit the nail on the head..that's one of the reason why I am slowly influencing the family with co2 talk..
to add on to Kate spade..I need to factor in transformers and barbie too!!

I managed to negotiate less assessment books.
Working my way to Kipling.
Off topic liao.
Yeah, around $200 should be the cost of a complete brand new 2L Co2 system with everything needed to run Co2 injection in a tank. Sometimes certain LFS may have special promos so their packages might be abit cheaper, but generally that's the budget to set aside for.
Its usually when people start adding in all the nice branded glass bubble counters and diffusers then the cost keeps rising higher and higher.
