2 ft tank with 2 X 36W PL tubes.
could it be burns due to over-dosing of fertilisers?
Can the brown stuff be easily rubbed off? If it can, it is probably brown algae, a diatom. It usually happen in new tanks. Otocinclus will quickly take care of it.Originally Posted by ahdi

The brown stuffs can't be rubbed off. The whole leaf turned brown. but the brown is very dark like rust.

It's the remains of dead algae, diatoms + hairalgae usually.... It stains some plants, particularly stem plants like ambulia.... Trim of the healthy green top, uproot the blacken portion and replant the top.

same problem happening again... brown rust-like patches on the leaves. can't be rubbed off.

Brown algae or diatom is the culprit. Check your lighting hours and fertilization schedule.
i hardly fertilize. so i reckon it must be lighting hours. too long hours??
